Fun in my fabric world....

Almost looked like snow!

But not quite! In the midst of my pre-Christmas mayhem I made an ottoman for DS...he requested black, bright blue & green and some robot fabric I had used in a quilt for him.
From a pattern by Kathy at Material Obsession (Turban Ottoman I think) that was also in a Quilters Companion magazine...super easy and quick & really looks smart (I think!). We decided to fill it with bean bag beans...they were everywhere!!!! I believe they have minds of their own!!! If I wasn't in Australia I might think there was a blizzard coming!
So now while I am running around like a mad woman, DS can chill out with his tootsies up! That is, after the lawns are mowed and his room is tidy...and he has walked the dog...and swept the path....and....

How fun! The ottoman looks great! And those pellets have so much static cling to them...seems they stick to everything.

This ottoman is absolutely stunning! Your blog post title threw me off... I kept saying, "she lives in Australia and they are in their summer now, how can she have snow?" But you are right the ottoman stuffing does look like snow!

Terrific gift and very well made. Lucky DS and I do love the idea of using the little pellets. I'll bet he got his chores done quickly so he could enjoy his new pillow.

When I've worked with those beans, I noticed they carried a lot of static cling. They stayed with me for days!
Looks like a comfy ottoman.

I'm so impressed, I saw one of MO's at a workshop and wanted one. I haven't got around to it though. Brilliant idea to use the beans.

Looks fantastic. Always on the look out for a good 'boys' project, and this one could be done in so many ways. It may not be snowing but it is crazy, cool sewing weather for summer.
