Fun in my fabric world....

To the Quilt Show and beyond!

As per our usual form, Lea and I started in the pre-dawn blackness and headed to Sydney and the annual Craft Show pilgrimage. It goes without question in our homes that this is a crucial outing in our year....catching up with friends, being inspired, trying (in vain) to resist the siren call of the fabric seller (aka the irresistably caramel toned voice of a certain Sydney quilting diva!) and hitting the Sydney sales too! We love it! And now our children are grown we can stay overnight too!!!!! But we still seem to do errands at their request...hmmmm!?
It is so much fun meeting with friends from near and far (but very dear!)...
having the annual MO Kathy pic (not our most flattering, but truly reflects the fun!)...
catching up with bloggers that I have "chatted" to and admired for ages, like Janet, Kate and Jean...
more amazing girls that travelled long distances (hello Sue-Anne- a most delightful surprise!)...
Breakfasted with buddies by the Harbour...Lea, Chooky and Dzintra...
and even made a woolly pincushion with the oh so fun and creative Wendy Williams...
I would have loved this bag to follow me home!
listening intently to Jean (and don't you love my beads!)....

and caught up with these beautiful ladies...Peg, Dale, Kate, Maree, Susan, Deb, Teresa, Kerry, Fiona, Sylvia,  Anita, Sandy, Chooky, Kayley, the Tasmanians!, Trish, Christine, so many names...so many lovely kindred spirits...too many links this late at night!!!!!
thanks for sharing the day!
Guess what happened just near here in Friday afternoon traffic on the exits from the Harbour Bridge???? Might be a little surprise for the most fun guess???

Haha, my first thought was that maybe a streaker ran across the bridge. Where is my head at?

I think you got a flat tire...and an incredible hunk...in a tight t-shirt and low riding jeans helped you out! In your dreams? Well it happened to us...a car full of quilters coming home from a Quilting Shop Hop on the LA Freeway leading to Palm Springs!! YIKES!! We thought we were going to get mugged for sure...we got out of the car...clutching our fabric and seam rippers(great buy at one of the shops!!)and a girl doesn't know when she will need protection!! Right!?
So did you get a flat tire??

You Australians know how to have fun. I enjoyed putting a few faces with names, so thanks for the photos.
I'm guessing traffic came to a stand still and someone handed out needles and thread to keep the public patient and calm. No?

Glad to read that you had a great time - i would have loved that bag too... Some of the guesses are pretty funny, are you going to tell us?

I have tears rolling down my face from laughing at the guesses!! How imaginative you lot are!! I just wish it was one of those--esp the hunk to change a tyre-- or a streaker would have been OK too...

I figured out that the green signs are the ones to watch out for, did you look at the wrong one? It was great meeting you and the other bloggers, a very fun time.
