...tried to start a small project after dinner...even felt excited.
BUT, it went nowhere...you know why?
I have decided it is all too hard when I am trying to find fabrics when they are all stored like this!!!
So, hand piecing it will be until I get some storage organised.

I'm in this state constantly, Alison - it's fun having a little scratch through, you never know what you might discover, lol!

How true, it's even worse when fabrics are shoved into cupboards because of visitors. I never remember where I put things then.
Currently you almost need a pogo stick to maneuver around my sewing space! Doesn't clean up and organizing the space seem constant? :o)
I hear you, so difficult when fabric isn't within easy reach. My fabric storage is upstairs and my sewing room is on the main floor. Sounded OK when we bought the house but knee surgery 2 months after moving in makes me think this was not such a good plan!
Maybe some cupboard shopping for your sewing room? Hope that next project comes to you soon.
I dont know the cat storage seems to be working well!
Same here Alison.
Just tubs full of fabric that needs sorting.
I like to actually see what I have, but space is limited.

Do you iron your fabrics with a warm cat? I also have a Pile o' Tubs but havent tried the warm cat.
Oh that must be frustrating... you will get organised eventually I am sure. x
It all takes time when one moves... but I'm sure you'll have it in "ship shape" condition in no time at all. It's all in the pLaNNinG! :)
Yep. That's the way my fabric is stored. It is a pain in the neck! One of these days I will have a real sewing room....I can't wait! Good luck getting your things organized :)
maybe you could find your TTS that would be great hand stitching..........lol
I am in a storage crisis too! I've been so frustrated recently when I try to go find something in my stash...it's all a big mess! When you come up with something...keep us posted!!
I'm not sure organized storage is the answer. Keeping it organized can lead to a good amount of dilly dallying. At least for me.
Organizing and storage problems are universal -- me too. And once things are organized, I get so much more done, not wasting time hunting and hunting.
Happy hand stitching!
I am waiting for the gadget man to fix the handles on my tall boy so I can move all my fabric into the sewing room....and last night we had a discussion about doing a design wall.....just got to wait for him to finish his assignments
