Fun in my fabric world....

Thankfully I am done with excuses...

And now I can reveal a fully bound Soul Searching Quilt...complete with hanging sleeve!
As I said, finding some "hangers" was a bit of a challenge, but my sewing friends are a lovely lot, and I soon found some very kind and willing volunteers.
I also took this picture on my back fence as I wanted to see it in the daylight.
I am pleased with it.
Have you seen this?
I am quite enjoying the new look Down Under Quilts, and this issue was extra special as there was a quilt created by a clever bloggy friend, Cathy. It is lovely, well worth a look.
This afternoon was earmarked for sewing time once all the household jobs were complete. Then my dear daughter and her beau arrived and suggested a walk on the beach with the dog...great idea! All was going well until a certain spotty dog decided that it was best to swim into the shipping channel of the Harbour! Great! Fortunately some lovely kayakers and a family in a motorboat managed to steer her back to the breakwater...and the gathered crowd exclaiming loudly about the sea-bound canine!
Innocent, I think not!
So, this evening has been spent doing prep work...all the pieces cut for the amitie BOM, circles ironed and ready to applique
...all bagged and ready to go!
Making fair progress this month.
Cardygirl xx

Yippee, a delightful finish. That BOM looks so fun, the adventure with the naughty pooch not so much!

A big pat on the back for your finish. I just really really like this quilt! Love your spotted bit of Innocence. She's gorgeous...if only she could speak!

Was there a guy on the breakwater yelling "seal, seal"???
Your quilt looks amazing! I have one BOM block started but decided to finish a little wallhanging today. Back to work tomorrow - could probably eke it out another day but that's not how I roll :)

Congratulations, your quilt looks fantatsic. I love a quilt that shows how much thought and work went into it, and this is one of those. Will you hang it on the wall?
The pup is looking guilty as charged. What would we do without their antics? Lots of lovely hand work in your BOM.

GSP's think they can do just about anything. Maybe she was swimming to a warmer climate. My boy is so scared of water he wont go anywhere near it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Soul Searching. That's just gorgeous.

Love the finished result, looks fantastic! Opps glad that someone was able to bring the dog back, could have been a bit distressing - for her as well as you! Perhaps you had better have her watch Jaws!

Love your quilt finish but love your dog even more! Thank goodness there were some people around to help steer her back to you. Our old dog, a labrador, swam across the Murray River once and climbed out on the opposite bank to where we were camped, she thought it was great fun.

Yay! Congratulations on such a fabulous quilt!! I'm so glad your spotty dog was steered back to safety. I hope she doesn't do that again. I'm loving your BOM blocks.

Love your quilt so much! It was worth the wait to see it in all it's glory. We had a naughty dog that used to take off to the lake down the road and swim and bark after the ducks. We had to be sneaky to try and catch her on shore.
