More inspiration...

It goes on...so many things to inspire...
a stitchery kit that someone else discarded...it reminded me of my first fumbling attempts with a cranky sewing teacher & ugly aqua blue headcloth! I was quite damaged by that unpleasant teacher...rulers over the knuckles & no thought of innovating. I had a sweet sewing box shaped like a house & I loved to fiddle with threads & buttons...pretty colours & textures. I didn't sew for years, then dabbled in cross stitch on those long months of night shift...helped to keep me awake!
A bag from Cath Kidston...I could surround myself with her wares...
more books...
the makings of a quilt...
Are you feeling inspired too?

Lovely books and fabrics here. I find Kaffe's V&A extremely inspirational - all his books really. Have you any quilt shows coming up near you - I always find seeing close up fabrics and stitching inspirational - oh and shopping for fabrics and books too. Many hugs to you.

Yes. All that inspires me too!! I really like that stitchery kit you show first. Very unusual. And the last picture is great! When are you going to begin cutting it?

Defintely inspired, but I must say the very first pic really takes my attention. It's beautiful!!!
It does remind me of those sewing days... your teacher should have been a headmaster not a sewing teacher!!

I found a tablecloth that I was making all those years ago... still incomplete and of the same era.. will finish one day.

Thanks for the inspiration!! xx

I had a cranky sewing teacher. She told me I should give up sewing, I was only 13! And had just started. Showed her.

Hello

I love your blog by the way. The fabric with the large flowers on a white background is that an Alexander Henry or a Michael Miller fabric? I have lost the piece of paper with the name of it. So would be so kind in sending me the name and the designer of the fabric.

Thanks

Glad you're getting your mojo back. I too don't have good memories of sewing at school. I didn't sew for years but both my sister's did. Now it's the other way around. I'm the sewer. How things change. xx

Unfortunately, I'm usually feeling inspired. I just wish I had as much time as inspiration :)
