Inspiration is an elusive creature...we spend hours working away...inspired. But when we lose that momentum, we feel lost & empty. We want to create, but we just don't seem to be able to put that thought into action. I have felt this roller coaster most of this year if I am to be honest. Dad's death, huge work commitments of trying to balance too many jobs, DH's work demands, son off to uni, daughter returning home & starting her working life..you know how it goes...our lives are all crammed full of so many demands! Trying to do too much really! Lynda spoke to me of needing purpose to finish a UFO...wise words...as deadlines do add structure...a wedding, a birthday...a new baby. I ventured out into blog land...new places...fresh ideas...and began to find that inspiration again. Beautiful women sharing their creativity & their lives...thankyou! All of my old "friends" lifted my spirit and I found some new inspiration...look at Lori, Karen and Geoffs mum. So what inspires me?
Colourful fabrics piled on a shelf...
Anni's fun stitchery address book...French General fabrics...I ADORE red!!!!...
Kaffe Fassett circles from Jackie...
books...
a daughter's stitcheries...I have spent time tidying my creative space, and found that not only were the fabrics being tidied, but the cobwebs were blowing away from my mind too...early days but I feel refreshed...and I am enjoying my cross stitch! sorry if this was all a bit wordy...there is more inspiration to come! What inspires you?

I love to see/hear what inspires you. Let's hope life settles for you and you find peace in your craft. I'm not sure what inspires me.... New projects, new stitcheries, maybe just to follow other's in a Stitch-A-Long. xx
I get inspired by spending time with friends seeing what they are making as well as looking at all the wonderful blogs. I just wish I had the time do make these creations.
Alison I can relate 100%.
I just spent hours at the ER last night from lethargy and dehydration.
Why?? I ran myself to pure exhaustion. Too much on my plate and not knowing how to slow down.
Like you I need to prioritize, take a deep breath and take life a bit slower.
you inspire me so keep sewing........this is a gorgeous spot to visit in blogland........
unfortunately there is always something changing or coming at us and it envelopes us at times but we just have to p[ck ourselves up and go again mostly because we have no choice. Life has to go on and will go on with or without us and I really don't want to miss out so I get it all be together.....
Oh Alison, I can so relate to where you are at the moment. I am feeling it too right now. Maybe it's a let down after the Nundle LOL
I feel that I need to get my head back in the right place. Have had a few disappointments in the last few weeks which have made me retreat back into myself, and as a result my sewing mojo has gone.
Chooky is right, we need to get it all together and get on with things!!
Hugs.
Inspiration is really everything, isn't it. When the muse deserts me, it is devastating while it lasts. My husband gets nervous when I stay out of the sewing room for very long. He knows I'm not a happy person unless I'm busy in there for part of every day. Sometimes, a good clean up is indeed the ticket to a fresh look at creating. Michele
A clean space, bright fresh colours, beautiful fabrics, a box of threads, skilled work by fellow crafters - these all inspire me. I find nature to be one of my biggest inspirations and if I feel my mojo is a little lacking I sit for a while in the garden and admire the beauty all around me.
I find the more I try to find my mojo, the less it wants to be found. Just allowing myself time to play at nothing in particular normally finds me absorbed in something without even realising.
Sending big hugs your way - I'm sure it will return of it's own accord when the time is right x
Your Cross Stitch is Beautiful..Glad to hear you are feeling your Mojo return..You are Not Alone.
cheers
