Fun in my fabric world....

A little distraction...

...while plugging away at Mum's quilt, I have spent evenings doing some applique...heartily enjoying it too!
Thought I would share it's gentle progress....far from the hectic whirring of my machine.
I rarely machine sew at night as it is nice to sit with the family. I am enjoying watching all the inspiration from the Glorious Colour blog...amazing stuff there!

Your block looks terrific! The needle turn around the heart must have been very fiddly. I love the colours.

Looks great. I love seeing the same blocks on different blogs and how they look so different because of the maker's fabric choices. Love yours.

Its been great to look at all the different versions, don't know whether to start this one or the flower pot quilt decisions decisions, my quilting friends are deciding on if maybe we do one of the quilts as a group next year.

I agree with youAlison, spending timw with the family at night is precious, even if it is in front of the great communal colour blog!!!

Your work is beautiful! I enjoy handwork for that reason too. Its nice just to sit quietly in the evening.

Your heart is amazing - especially the colours in the picket edging.
I have finally figured out that while I love the look of applique I usually get bored after the first shape is done. I'll content myself with enjoying everyone else's work.

thanks for sharing.

Your center is beautiful. I haven't decided on what to use for the heart, so I jumped to border 3 and am doing those blocks. I agree with you - I don't normally machine sew at night. I like having a nice hand project. Very pretty!
