Bind-a-phobia under control!

The true extent of my binding aversion was a source of hilarity at Nundle. And, yes, there are quite a few quilts waiting for their bindings to be hand stitched down. I am Cardy and I am bind-a-phobic (read plain lazy)!Dear Loz offered to stitch them down and their were loud cries of "...but that is the easy bit". But...still I procrastinated! So in that spare five minutes I struggle to find, I counted them...my "almost done" Hall of Shame! OMG...there were 5 bed quilts and 6 baby ones...eeek!
Well, you will be pleased to know that the largest is done, as is another and a third will be finished whilst watching Whitechapel tonight. I have a decent hole in my finger (I hate thimbles) but I do feel better about myself. Not overly stressed about the baby ones but will get to them in good time.
Here is my MO BOM finally complete...I will try to get a pre dusk pic tomorrow as it looks a bit dull in the twilight. It is pretty, but I have never fallen back in love with her after our big fall out last year (or was it the year before?????). But she will be happy on the bed in DD's room ...the cat already loves her!
Lastly, here is my name tag from Nundle...Kerry asked us to make a nametag...great to see them all...I was lucky enough to win a Homespun subscription for my effort!
Back tomorrow with some BOUND quilt pics!

Love the BOM. Glad to see that you are getting all your bindings done. I gave up on hand stitching my bindings over years ago. I only stitch them over on the machine. It's so quick...
Happy Quilting...

Beautiful quilt! and I love your nametag. When I first started quilting, I had a stack of quilts waiting for binding. When I finally started working on them, I discovered that I LOVE that part. It's just so satisfying. I did have to give in and find the perfect thimble, though. Good Lulck!

That quilt is beautiful!! I love that nametag, too.

I have to admit, basting and binding are two of the things that I just hate about quilting. I need to get better at it. I find no irony in typing that while there is a quilt 10+ years old on my bed with only 3/4 of the binding finished on it... ahem...

Too funny! I am still binding my husband's quilt from Christmas. But I do tend to like the binding process. And your lap looks like mine. My cats must sit on me on the quilt while I am binding. Glad you are working away to get them finished up. You will be glad!

I hate binding too, but you win, you have more unbinded quilts LOL

Its always a good feeling to finish things you have been putting off. Well done Cardy! The quilt looks great. I think I hate borders the most.
Looks like a great time at the show as well.

Congratulations on overcoming your dislike of binding to tackle that pile! For me its cutting, but the lure of a new project helps with motivation. At our charity group we are lucky to have a ladies who line up to hand stitch our bindings down! I think its one of those things you could easily outsource...except that Loz lives a bit far away! Great name tag, what a cool idea for a competition!

Love the BOM quilt, congratulations on working your way through the quilts. I don't mind hand sewing the binding, it's nice to do while watching tv.
Lovely name tag.

Now that I have seen your quilt all quilted and bound...I am now going to get mine out of the hatbox and try to fix the problems that we had with this quilt.

It looks lovely :)

You are the ninja master of binding! I am proud of you....perfect weather for sitting with a quilt over ones knees stitching bindings....now if only I had anything finished that I could stitch a binding too!! My name is Loz and I am a procrastinator!

Congratulations on your beautiful finish. Binding are not my favorite part either so when the pile gets out of control I have a binding attachment day then have projects to work on in the evenings. Great Winter projects. Looks like your kitty approves.

OMG are you sure you have finished that many..........well done.........

I love that photo of you (under) and your cat (on) the quilt. My cats always sit on my lap on top of the quilts when I bind them too. Then you have to keep moving them around so you can keep stitching. love your name tag... very cool!

So it looks like you've figured out why we all like binding. It's so nice to snuggle under the quilts with a kitty on top. A good TV show or movie, a hot drink and you're set. And I love love love your name tag. How big is it and how did you make the tiny dresdens?
