Feels like Groundhog day?

Well, it seems like we are repeating our days over and over again...if there is no rest for the wicked, I must have been REALLY naughty at some stage! There is so much happening and all remains focused on family, renovating and finding our feet in our beautiful new city.
Not being settled in the new house has left me feeling somewhat adrift...it will settle and realistically with all that is happening it is the least of my worries!
One dear blogging friend recently remarked how she loves seeing the renovation pics...it was a bit like Grand Designs goes Cardy! All I can say is that I wish dishy Kevin McCloud was around to smooth my furrowed brow ( now I will be in trouble with DH!!!!). Hopefully it will not be like GD episodes where the homeowner gets pregnant and there is a massive cost over-run! Here is the leadlight window waiting to go in and make the house look super cute.
And the retaining wall waiting to be filled. Some suggestions are being made that it would be a great plunge pool...might make us very popular neighbours!
On the sewing front, there is little to report...a case of the mind is willing but the body too tired! to back this up...can you believe that we have been in an apartment about 200m from a large Spotlight for two weeks and I haven't even been through the door as there has been neither time nor inclination...yikes!
My FIL remains very ill...sadly at almost 89 years of age we start to wear out. This is hard for him to accept but it is a privilege to be able to be there to support him in this part of his life journey.
Finally, on a happier note, Molly has taken to city life with gusto! The beach, lots of walks and the never ending thrill of meeting new people and smelling new dogs' @#%*!
Thanks for reading this...I feel like there is no sunshine here at present, but the clouds will clear!

Gosh I hope you don't end up pregnant too! Sounds like the end is in sight now, it will be so good to move in, and be closer to family.

I'll be doing all of this in less than 5 years...new state, city, living in a small place until the house is built. Abby loves all people and dogs so I hope it'll be a good transition for her too.

Oh my, we really are living parallel lives from afar. We just closed on a new home and are moving some stuff from a rental over while we paint etc. Still need to get our house 300 miles away on the market but much to do their first. And monthly trips made over 1000 miles away to assist when my FIL has chemo. Good luck you are in my thoughts, hope it goes quickly and smoothly!

Before you know it this will all be pictures in a memory book. Try to relax and take Molly's view, jump in the water and splash around!

Awww, big hugs! I don't do well with change so can imagine how you feel with so much up in the air. I love the house photos! I'm glad Molly is settling in well. :) My thoughts and prayers are with your family & FIL.

You sound very tired Cardy,I prescribe a trip to that Spotlight store even if it just means to sniff and fondle some fabric. The renovations are looking good,it wont be long before they're done and you can finally relax.Hope your FIL is doing ok? :) Barb.

Good to see a blog post from you. I've been wondering how things are going & how your FIL is. Love those windows. Hugs,

If Kevin McCloud happened to appear there would be a huge cost over-run, time delays, bad weather etc :) Keeping you FIL in my thoughts.

My thoughts are with you all. Life can be somewhat overwhelming at times. I'm sure you will get through it and return to some normality. Love the windows. They are very similar to some old ones we put in our kitchen. You just want Kevin to turn up for the big reveal at the end. I'm sure hubby would understand. LOL
