A new beginning.

I have read with interest posts on what was achieved by so many clever stitchers in 2013. So many lovely and inspiring projects which I have admired...and have actually inspired me to think about stitching...woohoo! Not that I have, but the mind is ticking over and I am hopeful that there may be a few stitches done tonight.
Some stitching was achieved last year, but the year was consumed by study, renovations and relocation! A most challenging year that I am happy to wave goodbye to....far too much stress and pressure has left us exhausted physically and emotionally. But as we unpack and begin to feel like we belong here, I feel sure that in six months we will know that it was all worth it. Once I settle with work and the unpacking is complete, it will feel more like home.
So here are some snaps of our big project for 2012....from the entry...

Looking through to the rear...

When the kitchen finally arrives in two weeks, I will dance with delight....here is what I am working with at present...a bit challenging, boy, will I appreciate that new kitchen!

A chance to set up my sewing machine...

And here I am( looking a tad pale!) with my DH on our new rear deck...

we have had our moments of late, but have found we are better just working together!

Your new home looks lovely. Renovating and moving can be so challenging, but like most difficult things, it is worth it in the end. I hope you are settled in soon, and comfortable with a new 'normal'.

Looks gorgeous! Love the clean white walls and timber floor -- such a serene, calm feel to them. Good luck with the kitchen. Hope it's all over soon!

I know how you feel.
Your new home is looking beautiful already. Such a difference from the original pics you posted. Hang in there, not too long until the kitchen is in and it will be worth the wait.

It's coming together nicely! I showed hubby the pics of your "kitchen" and told him what happened and he said - well at least you have a stove LOL

You are almost there! And very nice picture of you and your husband. If you can remodel and build a home together, you have made it as a couple!

Good luck with the kitchen, I can't imagine what it must be like doing that renovation. New carpet is to be installed tomorrow for me and then this house goes on the market! Hope to move in late feb. can't wait to be back living with my DH.

It took me two years to unpack the final two boxes, so dont rush it! Glad you have your sewing machine unpacked as stitching = destressing! Hope that the kitchen installation goes well for you...what colour did you pick...orange?!

The new house looks like something out of a magazine. (with the exception of your kitchen and when that arrives anyone who has done a kitchen reno will be doing the happy dance along with you!)

2012 was certainly a busy year for you. Lets hope 2013 affords you time to do some of the things you really love to do .
