Fun in my fabric world....

I never said I was smart.....

A funny sewing day today...a few lessons learnt...
sounds ominous?
You know how it is, a bit tired from too much work & not sleeping well...
but determined to achieve something in the sewing room...
a recipe for a "stupid" mistake!
I began cutting out my desperately longed for Sue Ross/MO BOM...how hard could it be...
but , to cut a long story short, I should have reversed the template for the cog wheel when tracing on the wrong side of the fabric. So my floral pieces were spinning backwards.
I am deciding if I should try & get some more fabric or begin "innovating"...I have a nice piece by Anna Griffin that might be okay. I am just unsure as I wonder how it will affect the rest of the colour balance in the finished mystery quilt...might sleep on it...what do you think?
But I did achieve some things...

partially constructed baby quilt...
more butterflies cut out (they are fun!)

Don't worry I do things like that...and more than once...I would slip something in from my stash that was close to the original fabric...don't stress over it too much...it will all come together....glad you mentioned this now...as I might have done the same thing...
cheers

That baby quilt is soo cute! And as for mistakes...we all make them...sometimes I just wonder how I make the mistakes I do...but I am getting better at not stressing over them!

Oops!! I'd probably ring and get more fabric!! (That's just me though!!) Hope you get it sorted out. Sounds like it's the start of lots of fun with the MO quilt!! Baby quilt has come together quickly... I told you you'd have it done before the week was done!! ;) Loving your butterflies!!

I tend to agree with Maree and Sherri and 'go with the flow'..that's mostly what I do.
How much will it bother you though and can you live with it?
You decide what you're happy with it :D You'll know... hugs!!

H and I are blond too and did the same thing.........would have been good if they told us that........(for the dumb blonds like me).........but I like it......all cogs cut and 2 pinned and may sew them tomorrow.........I tried one with scrapd and it worked well......

Leave it and go back to it after you've had a rest...it'll work out and don't forget "it's your quilt" so it can be anyway you want it to be.
Kind Regards

I've just done exactly the same thing..darn it! I think it might have been a good idea to say something in the instructions for natural blonde's like me :) But I think I'll just leave it as is for now. If it drives me nuts I'll do it again later.

I think we all do things like that - especially when we are tired! Hope you have worked out a solution! Your baby quilt looks lovely and fresh in the blues and greens.
